November brings about the return
of the Coal Miner's Christmas Show. The Coal Miner's Christmas Show is a Fine Craft and Art Auction, facilitated by Mealy's
Auctioneers, accompanied by entertaining musical and dramatic performances. The event unfolds in the modern spacious Jarrow
Café situated in the renovated estate grounds of Discovery Park in the picturesque town of Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny.
The show provides a wonderful opportunity to acquire original handmade Irish craft with potentially sizable savings.
Traditionally the offerings at this event have included one-off gold and silver jewellery, hand built furniture, original
paintings, photographs, etchings and collage. Included in the price of admission is a glass of wine and a raffle ticket for
quality prizes. All proceeds will be donated to the Castlecomer District Hospital in honour of the men who worked in the Deerpark
Mine. The Coal Miner's Christmas Show is a fun night out for a good cause. This year, items up for auction will be displayed
in the art gallery at the Discovery Park for the week prior to the show.

INSTRUCTIONS TO ARTISTS
Every
artist who chooses to donate a piece for this auction will benefit from the following promotions:
1. Photo of your piece in the promotional fliers distributed throughout
Kilkenny and Carlow in November (if you get your JPG's in on time!)
2. Pre-auction viewing of your piece at the
Discovery Park art gallery for 1 week preceding the show (Novermber 20th - 27th)
3. Showcasing of your piece at
the show. Specifically, your piece will be available for viewing before and during the music and entertainment,
will be paraded through the audience for close-up inspection during the art auction and will be displayed prominently
on the stage during the bidding
4. Free ticket to the show (great craic)
5. Good Karma
6. Your artwork
images will be submitted for articles in various print media (we can't guarantee that the editor will choose your photo,
but there is a chance)
Please provide your full name and the approximate value of your piece.
Deadlines:
To receive the most exposure for your donation please attend to the following dates:
IMAGES
1. Please submit an
image of your piece as soon as possible for newspaper and magazine articles. Email JPG to info@artistsbynight.com along with
the title of the piece and your name as you wish it to appear. It is preferable that images have a resolution of at least
300 dpi. Images received on or before November 1, 2010 will also be included in promotional fliers to be distributed throughout
Carlow and Kilkenny.
ART WORK
2. Please deliver or post your piece to Artists by Night, Discovery Park, Castlecomer,
Co. Kilkenny. Art work received on or before November 20, 2010 will be included in the Pre-Auction Exhibition in the Discovery
Park Gallery (November 20-27, 2010). Donations of art work will be accepted until November 26, 2010 and will be displayed
during the show on November 27, 2010.
